Priscilla Dean Rumley Cardwell

February 19, 1932 – August 13, 2021

Priscilla Dean Rumley Cardwell, 89, was born on February 19, 1932 in Stamford, Connecticut to Gary and Ruth Rumley.  She entered into rest on August 13, 2021 in Orange City, Florida.  She moved to Port Orange, Florida in November 1936.

Priscilla graduated Mainland Sr. in 1950.  She graduated from Florida Technological  College (UCF) in 1974.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology/Social Work.  She retired from Volusia County as a Social Worker.

Priscilla served as a Board Member for the Volusia Anthropological Society, Port Orange Historical Trust, Halifax Historical Society, Southeast Volusia Historical Society, and South Halifax Lions Club.  She was a member of the Florida Historical Society, Florida Anthropological Society, Florida Trust for Preservation, and the Early American Industries Association.  She co-authored several historical books with her husband, Harold Cardwell Sr.

Priscilla is survived by her sister, Carolyn Jean Fleming; son Harold Douglas (Ann) Cardwell Jr.; daughter Ruth Ellen (Glenn) Landau; grandchildren, Tim (Melissa) Cardwell, Jason Cardwell, Crystal Rewis,  Chelsea Landau, Dakota Landau, Tim (Kristi) Rewis; great-grandchildren, Kaela Wolkiewicz, Jacob Wolkiewicz, Jordan Rewis, Grady Rewis, Holland Cardwell, Margaret Cardwell, and Greyson Fulbright.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Harold D. Cardwell, Sr. ; her brother, Wilbur Gary Rumley Jr.; and her grand-daughter, Lindsey Rewis.  Priscilla will be loved and missed forever.

A visitation will be held for Priscilla on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 11:00am-12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm at Cardwell, Baggett & Summers Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Road, Daytona Beach, Florida.  Interment will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 1:00pm at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida.
