Raymond T. Strazar (92), of Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Brunswick and Parma, Ohio, went to his final resting place with the Lord on May 18, 2023.  Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years, Arlene "Pidge" (Wisner) with whom he enjoyed a life full of adventures and love.  He was a strong man of faith, who loved his family with the same vitality as his love for God.  He is also survived by his children; Lynda (Tom) Gilmore, Bob (Linda) Strazar, Trish Strazar (Joe Gendron), Ron Strazar (Natalya Petrenko), and Cheryl (Mike) Bazanos.

His life was made more full by his adoring grandchildren; Sarah (Cory) Darrow, Stacy (Chris) Meyers, Chelsea (Lauren) Robbins, Jillian (Tim) Bulgrin, Cory (Kelli) Strazar, Jess (Aaron) Woloszyn, Alex (Angela) Zak, Matt Bazanos, Danny (Virginia) Bazanos, Hannah (Christos) Zinonos, Jenna Saunders (Mitchell Zaz), Bria Gendron, Ali Gendron, and Serge Petrenko.

Ray was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Slovenian immigrants, Frank and Angela (Hren) Strazar on December 6, 1930.  He is a founding member of the Laurentian Athletic Club that was established over 75 years ago. Ray served our country proudly as a member of the US Army in the Korean War.  He was a member of the Parma Rose Society, winning many awards for his prized roses.  He became a true artisan through his craft of making stained glass windows.  Through his love for family and traditions, he continued the Slovenian tradition of making "Grandpa's Special" from his father, and passed the tradition to the future generations of the family.

Ray was remembered in a private memorial service in Florida shortly after his passing. He has now made his final trip back home to Ohio where his Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church located at 929 Pearl Rd, Brunswick, Ohio. A picnic reception celebrating his life will immediately follow his service. Reception location will be provided at the Mass.
