Obituary

Rex Beeler , a loving and devoted partner, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dedicated friend passed on May 14, 2022.
He left us while sleeping peacefully during a vacation in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was in his 87th year.

Brought to this world on February 5, 1935, in the quaint town of Logansport, Indiana. A healthy, blue eyed, handsome from the beginning, boy was birthed to his beloved mother, Edith (Pugh), (Beeler) Logan and father, Emory Beeler. Rex spoke fondly of his childhood although being born during the stabilization of the United States after the era of the depression and building his legacy which included graduating from Logansport High School in 1953, serving his country in the Air Force, and becoming a published chef. Rex had too many attributes to retell. His voice was one of a true vocalist that could reverberate in one's soul. He brought peace and stability to any situation allowing others to feel safe. Animals were drawn to him and would immediately respond to his touch. His legacy was one of pureness and comfort to others.

He loved his partner, Chris Mercer with whom he resided from 1988 until the end. Rex and Chris had a full life together living in Florida, Virginia and Tennessee, where their family home is located. In 1997, he retired from his profession of Chef and Baker, specializing in vegetarian cuisine. He was highly regarded by many patrons for his memorable ability of creating delicious breads, cinnamon rolls and dishes of all varieties. He enjoyed his many years of retirement caring for the couple's home and maintaining an enviable yard. The couple traveled often which included a motor tour of New England; cruise to the Inland Passageway of Alaska; and drive down Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle, Washington to San Francisco, California. He was a patient, thoughtful man that could enjoy a competitive game or a long walk in the woods while discussing various topics.

Rex was married to Diana Jo (Beeler) Binge for 25 years. He was a loving father to Shaun Henderson-Vigil and Melody Hoover. Father-in-law to Erik Henderson-Vigil. Proud grandfather to Alexander Hoover, Joseph Hoover, Shad Henderson, Tyler Henderson, Ayden Henderson-Vigil, Lily Henderson, Santiago Henderson, Phoenix Henderson-Vigil, Mia Henderson, Zander Henderson, Louis Henderson. Great grandfather of Annorah Lueth, Payson Henderson-Vigil, Mila Henderson, Zaidee Henderson, Malachi Henderson and Neveah Henderson.

Predeceased to brothers, Eugene Beeler, Raymond Beeler and Roy Beeler. He was close to his sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
