Richard E. Adams

September 6, 1947 - August 27, 2021

Richard E. Adams, Dick to his Pennsylvania friends and family, 73, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly from Muncy Valley, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 27, 2021 at Halifax Memorial Hospital, Daytona Beach, FL., after a brief battle with CoVid-19.

Born September 6, 1947, in Muncy, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Albert M., Jr. and Sara M. (nee Adams) Rine.  Richard attended Sullivan County schools and served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam.

Dick enjoyed his over the road trucking career of 48 years but was looking forward to retiring and spending time with his partner of 17 years, Linda Whitney.

Surviving in addition to Linda are his 3 children, Rebekah (Ryan) Beddall of Selinsgrove, PA, David Adams of Tivoli, PA, and James (Ashley) Adams of Camp LeJeune, N.C., grandchildren, Morgan, Alison and Jacob Beddall and Sophie, Amelia and August Adams, Linda's children, April (Ed) DeBoer, of Michigan, and Brian Hemme, of Florida; Linda's grandchildren, Makaila, Gia, Taha, and Zane; sisters Cheryl Shoemaker and Jane Little, and brothers Roger, Ricky, Ronald, Terry, and Carl,  their spouses, and several nieces, nephews, and his dog, Bella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Genie, a brother Dennis Rine, infant nephew, Keith Shoemaker, and nephew Daniel Rine.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
