Robert Woodward, born in Port Orange, FL on July 23, 1926, passed away on June 21, 2018. Born to Russell and Lola Woodward, Robert was a lifelong resident of Port Orange. He experienced his transition to Heaven to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at the age of 91.
Robert was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Holiness Church, having pastored two churches. His deep desire and passion was to tell others about Jesus Christ that "neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12. Robert was diligent in studying the Bible and committed many of the Psalms and complete books of the Bible to memory. Some favorite words he would like to share with those he leaves behind are: I am going to a city where the streets with gold are laid, where the Tree of Life is blooming and the roses never fade, here they bloom but for a season, soon their beauty is decayed. I am going to a city where the roses never fade." Robert was a plastering contractor in the sixties and seventies. He later studied art of Taxidermy and started a Taxidermy business and was well known throughout the area by fishermen and hunters. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Robert is survived by his one and only loving wife of 69 years, Joyce, his son Ronnie (Peggy), his grandson Scott (Jennifer), his great granddaughter, Amelia, his niece Debbie Odum, two nephews, Larry Willis and Steven Willis, his sister, Gladys (Dennis Kemp), one step-son, Hoby (Levita), step grandson, Skyler, step great-granddaughter, Rylie and his man wonderful friends who were so kind and thoughtful and generous to him and his family.
The family will have a viewing Wednesday June 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cardwell, Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Rd, South Daytona. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Funeral Home 11:00 am Thursday June 28, 2018, Burial will be at Daytona Memorial Park.
