Russell R. Book, 74, passed away peacefully with family at his side on August 9, 2013. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M at Covenant United Methodist Church 3701 S Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32129. A gathering will begin at 10:30 A.M at the church. Interment will take place on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:30 A.M at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Russell served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He volunteered as a teacher's aide where his grand-daughter attended school at Horizon Elementary. He was an active member of Covenant United Methodist Church for 8 years where he was a trustee and a member of Team Jesus. Russell was known for always having a smile on his face and his kind and generous nature will be greatly missed. Russell was the beloved husband of Annette Book for 22 years, loving father of Kristina (Cynthia Collins) Brooks, caring brother of Nancy (Johnny) Dillard, Wendy (John) Allen; son-in-law of Montez Stevens; brother-in-law of Angela Stevens, and proud grandfather of Alexia and Alexandria Brooks. The family would like to thank all of our friends for supporting us through this difficult time.
