Ruth McArthur Rhodes passed away at Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach on December 13, 2015 at the age of 94. Ruth was born on March 14, 1921 in Augusta GA to Jesse and Rose McArthur. She graduated from Tubman High School for Girls and entered the business world at Citizens & Southern National Bank. Three years later, she married James E. "Foxy" Rhodes and they had 3 daughters. When her first daughter entered school, Ruth became active in the P.T.A. She held many offices, including the presidency at two schools and was awarded a lifetime membership in the Georgia Congress of Parents and Teachers. In 1957, Ruth and her family moved to Daytona Beach, Fl where she lived for the remainder of her life. She resumed her career in banking in 1966 and later retired from Florida First Bank- now Bank of America. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, brothers, William and James, sister, Margaret Hardy, her beloved husband of 65 years, and granddaughter, Lynn Criss. She is survived by her daughters, Jeanne R. Widdis, Flagler Beach ,Connie E. Rhodes, Daytona Beach, Kathy R. Lee, East Ridge, TN, sister, Peggy M. Brown, St. Petersburg, FL, and sister in law, Earluth B. McArthur, Martinez, GA; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private " Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.
