Tom R. Evans, Sr., of Daytona Beach passed away on February 10, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 P.M., on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. The family will receive guests for a memorial gathering prior to the service from 5:00 P.M. until 5:30 P.M.
Tom was born on May 16, 1950 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to the late Shirley and Herbert Evans. Mr. Evans taught in the Volusia County School System for the past 35 year as an art teacher. He enjoyed gardening tropical plants, painting water scenes, and participating in the activities of his children. He was Assistant Scout master of Boy Scout Troop 401, and a very active band parent. Tom was very devoted to his faith and active in his church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Daytona Beach.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Eleanor "Elly" Evans, of Daytona Beach, and his loving sons, Tom R. Evans Jr., wife Amy, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mark W. Evans, of Daytona Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Tom's memory to The Church of Christ, Scientist, at, are under the careful direction of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home.
