Obituary

Vera Hanuszczyk, 88, passed away December 17, 2013. Vera was born in Minsk, Belarus in 1925. At the age of 17 she was forced to work in a camp during WWII. Vera remained at the camp for five years, relocated to Belgium following the war, and immigrated to the United States in 1951. Vera spoke six languages, was an avid reader, she loved to make Pysankys, enjoyed playing her Bandura and Mandolin. era was a member of the Ukrainian American Society of Daytona Beach, was kind and generous to a fault. Vera was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Ivan Hanuszczyk. Vera is preceded in death by her son, Walter Hanuszczyk, grandson, Jason Varao and granddaughter, Elizabeth Hanuszczyk. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Irene Varao, Marcus Hanuszczyk, Taras Hanuszczyk, John Hanuszczyk and Andre Roman; grandchildren, Jeremy Varao, Katie Hanuszczyk, and Taylor Roman; great-grandchildren, Genna and Noah Varao, Christopher and Allison Varao.
