Violet R. Hood, 93, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2014. Visitation will begin on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 9:30 A.M at Cardwell, Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129. A graveside service will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ormond Beach, FL at 11:00 A.M. She was known by everyone as a caring and loving individual. There was no person she would turn away and she regularly provided to charities across the country. Violet is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Clarence "Buzzy" Hood and sister, Mary K. (Harold T.) Clark. Those left to cherish Violet's memory are her niece, Sandra Graves; and great nieces, Rhonda and Shannon; great great-niece, Lauren and great great-nephews, Christopher, Benjamin and John. She also had several special friends whom she loved very much.
