V i v i a n e Falardeau Simmons, 81, of Port Orange, FL passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at her residence. She was born on June 24, 1933 in Loretteville, Province of Quebec, Canada to the late Willie A. and Benoite (LeBlanc) Falardeau. Viviane retired after many years in Management at Golf Pro Shops. Vivian was an extremely talented golfer of which she had numerous articles written about her by Brad Wilson and published in the Daytona Beach News Journal. As an amateur golfer she won the Ladies Club Championship at Club de Golf de Lorette in Canada six years, almost consecutively (1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1971, and 1972). She won the Daytona Beach Ladies Golf Tournament in 1980, 1981 and 1983. She was also invited to compete in the third annual Amaretto di Saronno National Ladies Club Championship golf tournament in October 1982 at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic of which a press release went out on her behalf. In 1991, she received an award of appreciation for her dedication to the Junior Golf Program of Daytona Beach. Viviane dedicated over 17 years to the management and instruction of this program. She was a longtime member of the Daytona Beach Museum of Arts and Science, the Florida International Symphony and she was very involved in the Junior Golf Programs in Daytona Beach. Viviane Simmons was a generous, loving, supportive and unselfish woman who always put other people before herself. Viviane was charitable, giving, considerate and kind. Viviane was always involved in something. Viviane never wanted people to go out of their way for her. Yet, she did it all of the time for others. Viviane has touched the lives of so many people and even though she is gone, her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever. Viviane's spirit has not left us. Everyone who was ever touched by Viviane in his or her lifetime should have faith that she will be watching over them because that is just the kind of person she was."To know her is love her." The world is a better place because of her unselfish personality and love of life and consideration of all others, especially all the children that she loved teaching her skills to for all those years. A Celebration of the Life of Viviane Falardeau Simmons will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in The Chapel at Cardwell Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 32 years (whom she married on May 5, 1983), Henry E. Simmons of Port Orange, FL; her husband's children, Bruce Simmons of Deltona, FL and Ann Drawdy of Daytona Beach, FL; a brother, Fernand Falardeau of Montreal, Canada; a sister, Yolain Carignan of North Carolina; her husband's grandson, Michael Drawdy of Tucson, Arizona and his great-grandchildren.
