IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
J. Nilles
October 20, 1939 – August 7, 2021
William "Bill" Nilles
October 20, 1939 – August 7, 2021
William "Bill" Nilles of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away on August 7th at the age of 81. He died peacefully with his wife and best friend of 57 years, Theresa and their four children by his side.
Bill was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on October 20, 1939 to father, William Nilles and mother, Marian LeGrande. He honorably served our country with the US Army National Guard for 23 years and had a notable career with United Parcel Service (UPS) where he made many lifelong friends. It was his entrepreneurial spirit along with an amazing work ethic and a hustle mentality like no others that led him to a successful career in the car business.
Most know Bill for his unwavering faith in God and dedication to the Catholic Church of the Epiphany. He was a servant leader in his Catholic faith and greatly served the Daytona Beach community. He was a strong patriarch of his family and a good friend to all. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply and always did the best he could to teach and guide them. He was known for the phrase, "Why are you here?". Bill wanted everyone to understand their "why" and truly live in every moment. Another coined phrase he lived by was "You get what you accept".
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles and Robert Nilles.
He married Theresa, the love of his life, in 1964, who survives him. Bill is also survived by his children, Lisa (Rich) Legath of Coplay, PA; Bill (Sandy) Nilles of Phoenixville, PA; Tracy Nilles (Sherrie Ruggles) of Memphis, TN; Matt (Michele) Nilles of Orlando, FL; 10 grandchildren; three great granddaughters; sisters Mary (Robert) Sarisky and Mimi (Peter) DiSabella of Pennsylvania.
The viewing will take place Tuesday, August 17th at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, August 18th at The Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange, Florida. The burial will take place at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery following the service.
Bill was involved with many ministries. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Food for the Poor.
