IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Winnie Chesnutt
Forren-Cain
August 17, 1951 – January 30, 2025
With a soul that radiated kindness, love, joy, and laughter; it is with deep sorrow to share that Winnie Chesnutt Forren-Cain's battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia has come to an end, she peacefully passed on January 30, 2025; with her husband Pat by her side. A special thank you to Laura Semmel and Sherry Musco for their love of Winnie and the care that they provided for her during such a difficult time.
Winnie was born on August 17, 1951, to Elliott and Helen Chesnutt in Daytona Beach, Florida. After graduating from Mainland High School in 1969, she went on to work for the Volusia County Sherriff Department as a crossing guard in South Daytona where she became "Miss Winnie". No one could have predicted the significant impact that she would have on the community, she loved to volunteer for the 100 Deputies and 100 Kids program. Winnie was known for her passion for the holidays, especially Christmas and all the decorating that would take place. She valued being able to spread joy and laughter to others during the holiday season. Winnie was known for her annual Christmas party; people would come from across town to visit her "Winter Wonderland".
Winnie is survived by her loving husband Pat, son Jeffrey, sister Patricia, stepdaughter Ashley, grandchildren Courtney, Neal and Brodie along with nieces Penny, Nikkie and Megan. Predeceased by both her parents Elliott and Helen and her son Sean.
Let's remember Winnie for her vibrant spirit, contagious smile, and love for the community.
A celebration of life will be held on February 22, 2025, at Central Baptist Church, located at 152 Fairview Ave., Daytona Beach at 1:00 pm. Immediately preceding the celebration will be a reception at Piggotte Community Center located at 504 Big Tree Rd., South Daytona.
In honor of Winnie and her love for Christmas, the family has requested that you wear your favorite Christmas attire.
It is asked in lieu of flowers to consider a donation be made in Winnie's name to either St. Jude's or the Alzheimer's Association.
